Vegan Olive Tapenade Recipe

Vegan tapenade: Tapenade is a healthier appetizer or snack that takes less than 5 minutes to prepare. It is a straightforward recipe, healthy and is to die for.
With the heat, it seems that recipes that are simple and quick are more appealing.

This tapenade has it all because it is ready in 5 minutes (or less), and you have to put the ingredients in a food processor (or blender) and blend, nothing more!

We already had another tapenade recipe on the blog, but this version does not have oil, but tahini, one of our favourite ingredients, almost every day.

Ideally, the tahini is made only with sesame seeds, nothing more and better if it is raw; it has a more bitter taste, but it is more nutritious as it is not roasted, and when you get used to it, you like it even more than roasted (al less is what has happened to us).

It can be an appetiser or a very healthy and prosperous snack accompanied by crudités (raw vegetables), rice cakes, nachos, bread or anything else that can get wet, although personally, crudités are my favourites and probably the healthiest option.

It is also rich in sandwiches with other vegetables and baked or grilled tofu; it makes my mouth water just imagining it!

Tips:

  • You can use any type of olive or herb (fresh or dried).
  • The original recipe is made with extra virgin olive oil, although we prefer to use tahini. If you like the oil more, also add two tablespoons.
  • If you want the garlic not to repeat, you can remove the germ or use garlic powder.
  • It has lasted more than a week for us in the fridge, but I can't tell you exactly how long it can last. If it smells and tastes good and looks good, you can consume it without problems.
  • It can also be prepared in a blender, although it will have a more liquid and less dense consistency.
