2-Minutes Healthy Ketchup

I have never been a person who likes ketchup very much; as a child, I only drank it outside the home when I ate french fries or hamburgers, but Waleed, for example, loves it and makes terrifying combinations with it.

Many parents give their children ketchup to camouflage the taste of foods that they do not like, such as vegetables, the problem is that it is a food full of refined sugar and very unhealthy, so I was encouraged to look for healthy and easy alternatives to make how this healthy ketchup is prepared in just 2 minutes.

I have to admit that the flavour is not the same as that of the typical canned ketchup.

Still, it is vibrant, and it is so easy to prepare that you can adapt it to your liking by adding more salt, sweetener, vinegar or some additional spice or herb.

There is no better way to accompany ketchup than some fried potatoes, but I usually prepare them in the oven because fried ones have never done me well; I suppose it is due to lack of habit (in my house, few fried ones have been eaten).

Advice:

  • You can use any other sweetener instead of the maple syrup; add it little by little until the ketchup is to your liking.
  • You can also use other types of vinegar and other spices or herbs.
