I wanted to use the waffle iron

I had abandoned it since we went to Germany, and it has made me fall in love again.

It is so easy to use, clean, and you can make so many recipes that I would buy it a thousand times again; it is not one of those utensils you buy on impulse and then leaves cornered in a kitchen cupboard, at least in my case.

It is also shallow in fat and nutritious, but the best of all is that these waffles are incredibly rich, and you can accompany them with your favourite toppings: jam, syrup, fruit, nuts, seeds, nut butter, etc.

I love to have them for breakfast, after enjoying a delicious juice or green juice, although you can also prepare them for a snack or as a dessert if you want to give yourself a special tribute one day.

Advice:

  • Each waffle maker is different, so that the cooking time can vary, mine has five heat settings, and I usually set it to 2 or 3, and they are usually ready in about 7 minutes.
  • The amount of batter you need to add depends on the size and shape of your waffle iron. If you use a round waffle maker, you will probably have to add more batter because they tend to be larger.
  • If you want perfect and square waffles, you have to spread the dough with a spoon to fill more or less the entire surface; if not, pour the dough on the surface of the waffle maker, and she will crush the dough for you. I don't usually complicate my life daily, and I don't care if they aren't so pretty.
  • If you do not use the freshly made dough, it will thicken; it is normal; add a little more milk or water. You can keep it in the fridge for about two days.
  • If you don't have a waffle maker, you can also use the oven waffle moulds, although since I have never used them, I wouldn't know how to tell you the temperature or the cooking time; I suppose they will make some suggestions in the instructions of the mould.
  • If you don't have a waffle maker or waffle iron, don't worry, you can make delicious vegan pancakes with this batter; whisk the ingredients and follow our vegan pancake recipe from step 3.
  • You can use any natural sweetener, vegetable milk or water, carob or even other flours (although in that case, you may have to add more or less amount).
  • If your waffle maker is not new or does not have an excellent non-stick, spread a little extra virgin olive or coconut oil with the help of kitchen paper to prevent the waffles from sticking.
