Homemade Energy Bars Recipe

Energy bars
We are not responsible if you become addicted to these energy bars because they are so rich and healthy that you will want to eat them at all times.

Three weeks ago, we started running following a table that we saw on the internet, and although it is not that we are Forrest Gump, we have done better than expected (we must bear in mind that the table is for novices and that it almost runs faster than it runs ).

With the table, we are supposed to run 30 minutes in a row in 9 weeks.

To some, it will seem minor, but we have preferred to do it progressively so as not to demotivate ourselves and to avoid injuring ourselves (we had not run in our life).

Energy bars
Since we usually run in the morning, we don't like to go out on an empty stomach (especially I, who have low blood pressure and if I go out without eating, I look like a zombie), but neither do we end up with a very full and heavy stomach, so energy bars are a good option, and they are also to die for.

Energy bars
The ingredients of our bars are high in carbohydrates and sugars, so they provide a lot of energy that can come in handy both before and after exercise to regain strength.

In addition, they satisfy us for longer than other refined foods because their sugars are released little by little, prolonging that feeling of satiety.

Energy bars
For those of you who are athletes or those of you who have a hopeless sweet tooth like us, we recommend that you try them.

In addition, it is a recipe suitable for all audiences because it is straightforward and fast, you do not have to spend heat using the oven, and no special utensils are necessary.

You can also change the ingredients, substituting ours for other dehydrated fruits, cereals, seeds or whatever you have at home.

Energy bars
As if all the above reasons were not enough, we must add that by making your bars you know what you are eating, and we assure you that they are much healthier than those that we can find in supermarkets, and they are much richer!

  • Two tablespoon sesame seeds (or sesame)
  • Six tablespoons oat flakes
  • Six tablespoons agave syrup

  • Three tablespoon sesame seeds (or sesame)
  • Nine tablespoons oat flakes
  • Nine tablespoons agave syrup

Instructions

  1. A mincer, food processor or mixer add the dates, dried cranberries, 20 grams of almonds and sesame seeds. We beat until everything is well crushed.
  2. Pour the mixture into a container and add the oats, agave and the rest of the almonds, chopped with a knife. We stir with the help of a spoon until the ingredients are integrated.
  3. We place the pasta on baking paper (or plastic wrap), cover it with another baking paper and with the help of our hands or a roller, we stretch it until it is half a centimetre thick. We put them in the fridge for at least a couple of hours, although we had them all night.
  4. We remove the baking paper and cut the bars into the shape that we like the most.
