I have tried to make it with my Vitamix, and with the food processor that we bought recently and with both, it was very tasty, although the ideal is to use the processor because the ice cream comes out creamier.

On top, you can add your favourite toppings such as fresh fruit, dried fruits, seeds, nuts, syrups or natural sweeteners, etc.

You can also add other frozen fruits to get different flavours and colours; my favourites are red fruits and mango, some spectacular ice creams come out. 

If the fruit is ripe, the ice cream will be sweet, but you can add dates, date syrup, or any natural sweetener if you want.

Ideally, it would help if you put the bananas in the freezer at least the night before. 

You can cut them into 3 or 4 large pieces, although if your mixer or your processor is not too powerful, I recommend that you cut them into slices

If your machine still has a hard time, you can use half of the fresh bananas and the other half frozen or add a little non-dairy milk (coconut milk and nuts are ideal for making ice cream).

Instructions

  1. Chop the banana into 3 or 4 pieces. If your mixer or food processor is not very powerful, cut them into slices.
  2. Put the bananas in the freezer in an airtight container the night before, although they may stay longer.
  3. Put the bananas in your blender or food processor (I recommend that you use a processor because it produces a creamier ice cream) and beat until you get ice cream with a very creamy consistency. Be patient because it may take a while.
  4. When the ice cream is ready, you can eat it right away (although it will be a bit soft) or put it in the freezer for at least 1 hour in an airtight container to solidify a little.
  5. You can add other frozen fruits in addition to the banana to get different flavours.
  6. Serve with your favourite toppings on top.
