How To Make Oat Milk Recipe

We continue with the vegetable milk, and today, it is the turn of the oat milk. It is a very nutritious and easy to digest milk, and in addition, the recipe is straightforward.

I love dairy. I could feed on them because they are my passion, but I have realised that my skin does not feel perfect, especially if I drink milk alone, so I try new alternatives, such as vegetable milk or natural juices.

I loved the oat milk, even more than the almond milk, perhaps because the recipe includes dates and vanilla, or because the flavour of oats is milder than almonds, although both are delicious.

We have used a recipe from the Petite Kitchen blog to make the recipe, although we have added vanilla and modified the amounts.

If you are lactose intolerant, animal-based milk makes you feel bad, you are vegan, or you like to try new things, I recommend this milk 100% because, in addition to its many benefits and its flavour, it can be used cold, hot, or to cook, like cow's milk and is much healthier. 

It lasts 4 or 5 days, and you have to keep it in the fridge.

If you don't like dates, you can make the recipe with any other natural sweetener or without adding anything, although it will be blander.

How to Make Oat Milk.- Making oat milk at home is very easy, it is much cheaper, and we know what we are taking. Only two ingredients are needed!

Oat milk is very easy to prepare and is delicious. It is my favourite milk, and I consume it often.

Ingredients SCALE (1x)

  • 40 grams of oat flakes
  • Six pitted dates
  • 1 litre of water
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • One teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Ingredients SCALE (2x)

  • 80 grams of oat flakes
  • 12 pitted dates
  • 2 litre of water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • Two teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Ingredients SCALE (3x)

  • 120 grams of rolled oats
  • 18 pitted dates
  • 3 litre of water
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt (optional)
  • Three teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)


  1. The night before, we leave the oatmeal flakes in a pot with water; it is enough that it is completely covered.
  2. The next day we strain the oatmeal and put it in a blender or food processor and the rest of the ingredients. We beat for 2 minutes. We let it rest for 1 hour.
  3. Strain the oat milk with gauze, cloth or an excellent filter to separate the liquid from the remains of oat flakes. We strain 2 or 3 more times again to eliminate the remains.
