It has always been difficult for me to drink water; I was the typical person who only drank at meals or when I was very thirsty, and the truth is that water did not make me very funny, I preferred to drink other liquids as carbonated drinks

Luckily, my house has always drunk water, and my mother has never bought me industrial juices or soft drinks, except on special occasions. These drinks are not healthy for children or adults; they are full of sugars and chemical additives.

About six years ago, I lost a lot of weight when I became interested in healthy food, and my dietitian made me aware of how important hydration is to our body. 

To force me to drink, I always had the bottle close at hand, and although at first, it cost me a lot, now I drink 2 or 3 litres without realising it, and I love water.

If it is difficult for you to drink at least 1 litre and a half or two a day, the detox waters are for you; they have a vibrant flavour and complete vitamins and minerals. You can use your favourite fruits and add some herbs to add flavour. 

We have two other detox glasses of water on the blog, and in fact, they are two of the most successful recipes. It is also handy for purifying the body, eliminating toxins and for losing weight.

Strawberry, Orange and Mint Detox Water
This detox water is the richest I have tried so far, and it is straightforward to prepare. You need to put water in a glass jar or jar and add strawberries, oranges and mint or spearmint. You can set the amount you want, although below you can see my recipe.

If you don't like mint or spearmint, you can use the fruit and add another herb or some fruit that you like or have on hand. Tangerines are also very rich and provide a milder flavour than orange.

The ideal is not to drink the freshly made water because it will not have much flavour. I recommend that you let it marinate for at least an hour, although you can leave it overnight. 

The longer you leave it, the stronger the flavour. You can eat the fruit or use it to make green smoothies or for any other recipe.

Ingredients SCALE (1x)

  • One orange
  • Six strawberries
  • Ten mint or spearmint leaves
  • 4 cups of water (1 l)

Ingredients SCALE (2x)

  • Two orange
  • 12 strawberries
  • 20 mint or spearmint leaves
  • 8 cups of water (2 l)

Ingredients SCALE (3x)

  • Three orange
  • 18 strawberries
  • 30 mint or spearmint leaves
  • 12 cups of water (3 l)


  1. Cut the orange and strawberries into small pieces.
  2. Pour the fruit and mint into a glass container and add the water.
  3. Let the detox water sit for at least an hour. You can let it marinate for 12 or 24 hours. The longer it is mashing, the more flavour it will have.
  4. You can eat the fruit, or you can make green smoothies or any other recipe you can think of with it.
